Thanks to videoconferencing, the flow of communication has continued to flow; climate-damaging business trips were avoided. Retailers, which could also offer their offer on the Internet, prevented a total loss. The force of digital transformation is also shaking established business models.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class='special-heading-border'><div class='special-heading-inner-border' ><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class='flex_column_table av-equal-height-column-flextable -flextable' ><div class=\"flex_column av_one_half  no_margin flex_column_table_cell av-equal-height-column av-align-top first  avia-builder-el-3  el_after_av_three_fifth  el_before_av_one_half  \" style='background: #f1f6fc; padding:40px; background-color:#f1f6fc; border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><span class=\"av_dropcap1 \" >T<\/span>\n<p>echnologieangst kann jedoch nicht die alleinige Erkl\u00e4rung daf\u00fcr sein, dass die digitale Zukunft von nicht-europ\u00e4ischen Konzernen dominiert wird. Erw\u00e4hnt seien an dieser Stelle vier offensichtliche Defizite, auch wenn diese in den einzelnen EU-Mitgliedsstaaten unterschiedlich stark ausgepr\u00e4gt sein k\u00f6nnen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IKT-Pioniere suchen in Europa h\u00e4ufig vergeblich nach Fr\u00fchphasenfinanzierung.<\/li>\n<li>\u00d6ffentliche Investitionen in die IKT-Infrastruktur wurden jahrelang vernachl\u00e4ssigt und verz\u00f6gern damit den technischen Fortschritt.<\/li>\n<li>Programmieren geh\u00f6rt auch unter der j\u00fcngeren Generation noch immer nicht zu den Kulturtechniken wie Lesen und Schreiben. In einer \u00e4lter werdenden Gesellschaft droht vielen Menschen der Ausschluss von digitalen Arbeitspl\u00e4tzen.<\/li>\n<li>Um im internationalen Wettbewerb zu bestehen, fehlt es an europ\u00e4ischen Digitalkonzernen, die \u00fcber eine kritische Masse an Einflu\u00df verf\u00fcgen, um neue Standards zu setzen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"flex_column av_one_half  no_margin flex_column_table_cell av-equal-height-column av-align-top   avia-builder-el-5  el_after_av_one_half  el_before_av_section  avia-builder-el-last  \" style='background: #f1f6fc; padding:40px; background-color:#f1f6fc; border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock  '   itemprop=\"text\" ><p>One of the achievements of a European digital strategy is certainly the General Data Protection Regulation. The effective fight against hate messages, fake news and cybercrime requires comparable EU regulations. In addition, it is to be expected that in the future non-European states will increasingly interfere with the freedom of the Internet. In order to respond adequately to such digital protectionism, a holistic set of instruments is needed, the application of which must be supported by all Member States.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper. The same applies to a social network. Both could set a new standard with reference to European data protection guidelines and the use of intelligent tools to identify and delete fake news, as well as hate messages, including the simplified introduction of punitive measures against trolls worldwide.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div class=\"flex_column av_one_fifth  no_margin av-break-at-tablet flex_column_table_cell av-equal-height-column av-align-top   avia-builder-el-14  el_after_av_one_fifth  el_before_av_one_fifth  \" style='background: #ffffff; padding:30px; background-color:#ffffff; border-radius:0px; '><section class=\"av_textblock_section \"  itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock  av_inherit_color '  style='color:#4f4f4f; '  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>In the battle for the 5G standard, the majority of non-European technology providers have emerged victorious. However, there is still a chance for Europe to become a pioneer for the coming network of the future. For example, a few European scientists are researching a 6G standard that is said to be 1,000 times faster than 5G. However, this should not be available until 2037 at the earliest. What if the European states pooled their R&#038;D skills in order to be able to offer a solution by the end of this decade? Moreover, cybercriminals almost always have a technical edge. The more dependent we become on digital solutions, the greater the risk of blackout. This problem affects all the countries of the world. The EU could consider maintaining analogue replacement solutions in key areas alongside digital innovations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper.
